Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) – Vaccination Programme

This provides information on this common respiratory virus which causes serious lung infections.
There are two cohorts of patients which, the practice will be vaccinating.
1. Patients turning aged 75 on or after the 01st September 2024 – We will call eligible patients throughout the year, please await your invitation.
2. Patients already aged 75 – 79 years old on the 01st September 2024. This cohort of patients will receive a text shortly inviting you to attend for your vaccine.
Pregnant patients will be vaccinated by the trust maternity services.
We are piloting a new approach to bookings for these vaccines.
If you receive a text you are eligible. Within the text is a link for for information on the single dose vaccine but you can now book the appointment yourself from the text using the link.
Clicking the link embedded in the text will show you available dates and times for appointments. This year we plan to have the appointments on 12th September 2024 (PM) and 24th September 2024 (PM). Click on the date and time you would like to attend and confirm the appointment. You will receive a confirmation text once completed.
We would encourage all patients to keep your mobile number up to date with the practice and use this booking service. However, in the event you are unable to use this service please ring 02890 296600 after 1pm.
Important information to note.
You can only use the text booking service if you receive a text.
The RSV vaccine cannot be given at the same time as the covid / flu vaccinations.
The booking link is only valid for 7 days.
